New Projects: 2015 DODEA Grant Evaluations

We begin three new evaluation studies this fall examining school district projects that support military-connected students. Poquoson City Public Schools and York County School Division, two long-standing Shaffer Evaluation Group clients, received new five-year awards for instructional initiatives designed to improve the academic achievement of military-connected students. Our newest client, Norfolk Public Schools, also received a grant award that seeks to improve the sociol-emotional support for military-connected students at selected schools. We're proud to support these wonderful projects intended to enrich the lives of military-connected students.

Shaffer Evaluation Group Presents at Eastern Evaluation Research Society Conference

Shaffer Evaluation Group's Patricia Moore Shaffer and Kristi Wagner presented on "Balancing Participatory Evaluation Against Contextual Challenges in Educational Settings" at this year's Eastern Evaluation Research Society 38th annual conference held in Galloway, NJ, April 26-28, 2015.

New Project: Regent University Mathematics & Science Partnership Grant Evaluation

haffer Evaluation Group was awarded a contract by Regent University to evaluate its Mathematics & Science Partnership grant. The goal of the University's SWIRL project is to develop a teacher’s ability to develop intensive instruction that uses research based strategies to efficiently and effectively teach content and significantly increase the likelihood students will master science content.
