Digital Game Design Professional Development for Art Teachers, 2014-2015
The Shaffer Evaluation Group developed an evaluation strategy for implementation in future grant-funded activities for Learning from Digital Game Design, a professional development program for high school art teachers. The evaluation team facilitated the development of a logic model and evaluation framework with the staff team; preparatory activities included: 1) Review of evaluation designs and instruments from similar initiatives; 2) Development of draft logic model and refinement of logic model through facilitated discussions with staff and interviews with selected stakeholders; 3) Observations of professional development with intent of refining logic model; and 4) Development of evaluation matrix and narrative description of evaluation design featuring quasi-experimental and non-experimental design options.
